Uniforms

The Prince of Wales is Colonel-in-Chief of the Parachute Regiment

The Prince has an important role in the Army, the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force.

He has a number of uniforms which he wears on ceremonial occasions or when meeting services personnel.   The Prince sometimes wears a maroon beret with his Army uniform because he is Colonel-in Chief of the Parachute regiment.  On his beret, The Prince wears a badge with wings.  Like the paratroopers, The Prince has completed the parachute training course.

Prince William and his brother Prince Harry are officers in the Army.

They both trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and wore the uniform of the army cadet which is black and red.

Now that they are both Second Lieutenants in the Household Cavalry (Blues and Royals) they wear a variety of different uniforms depending on what training they are doing.

In the picture Harry is wearing a uniform and protective helmet and goggles while he learns to drive a tank as part of his army training.

Sometimes Prince William and Prince Harry wear a medal on their lapel.  This medal is called a Golden Jubilee medal and was given to the Princes by their grandmother The Queen in 2002 to mark 50 years since The Queen was crowned. The Prince of Wales was also given a Golden Jubilee medal by The Queen.
