Evening Standard story reports of letters to Mayor of London

Today (27th January 2010) the Evening Standard published a story which alleged that The Prince of Wales had written frequently to the Mayor of London Boris Johnson about various London issues, including planning, and had met with him every few months – correspondence and meetings which, the newspaper claimed, raised fears that The Prince was “meddling in politics”.
This story is not true. In the past two years The Prince of Wales has had one meeting with the Mayor of London and written two letters to him. Neither letter referred to policy or planning issues.
The Evening Standard has now removed the story from its website.
