Message from The Prince of Wales to the new President of Nigeria

The Prince of Wales has sent a message of condolence to the new President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, after the death of former President Yar’Adua of Nigeria yesterday (6th May 2010).
The new President, who was originally the Vice-President, was sworn in yesterday in the capital city of Abuja. The Prince of Wales last visited Nigeria in November 2006.
The message reads:
"The Prince of Wales is deeply saddened by the tragic death of President Yar’Adua and has sent a message of condolence to President Jonathan and the people of Nigeria, recalling with great fondness his own visits to Nigeria over the years."
