Events in the week of The Prince of Wales's 60th birthday

Saturday 8th November

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attend The Festival of Remembrance in London. This annual event honours those who have died in the service of their country and comprises a Service of Remembrance and an observance of a two minute silence.

Sunday 9th November

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attend Remembrance Day commemorations in London with other members of the Royal Family.

The Prince of Wales, in his capacity as Colonel of the Welsh Guards, attends an event at The Welsh Guards’ Officers' Mess, a Service at the Guards' Chapel Memorial and a Wreath Laying at Footguards' Memorial.

Monday 10th November
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall travel to France to represent the United Kingdom at international commemorations for the 90th anniversary of the end of the First World War. Their Royal Highnesses will dine with The President of France and Mrs Sarkozy on Monday evening.

Tuesday 11th November
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attend commemorations in France to mark the 90th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

Wednesday 12th November
The Prince of Wales hosts a meeting at Clarence House of leading figures from the insurance sector who will report back on their “ClimateWise” principles. These are a set of measures, drawn up with the help of two of The Prince’s charities – Business in the Community and The Prince of Wales’s Business in the Environment Programme – designed to promote greener practices, not just within the industry but also among insurance companies’ customers.

The Prince of Wales attends a reception for the British Army Antarctic Expedition in Greenwich, London. The Expedition, of which the Prince is Royal Patron, supports scientific surveys, in particular related to climate change, in the Antarctic as well as providing training for recent recruits into the British Army.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attend the Comedy Gala Show ‘We Are Most Amused’, to be recorded for broadcast on ITV, at the New Wimbledon Theatre, London. The show is being held in aid of The Prince’s Trust, and will feature some of the country’s best-known comedy stars.

Thursday 13th November

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, along with other members of the Royal Family, attend a private reception and concert at Buckingham Palace given by Her Majesty The Queen to celebrate The Prince’s 60th birthday. The concert will be performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra, of which The Prince is Patron.

Friday 14th November

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visit a Prince’s Trust project in London. The visit will mark the beginning of The Trust’s “Youth Week”, an awareness campaign which seeks to highlight the positive contribution young people can make to our society.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attend a classical concert organised for children by The Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts in London. The charity was set up by The Prince to allow children from all backgrounds the opportunity to experience the best of the arts.

Saturday 15th November
The Duchess of Cornwall holds a private birthday party for The Prince of Wales at Highgrove for friends and family. The main musical entertainment at the party will be provided by Rod Stewart, who is an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust. He is giving his performance as a birthday present to The Prince.
