Clarence House launches a Storify account
6th October 2011
Clarence House, has launched a Storify account, the latest addition to our online channels which already includes YouTube, Twitter, Flickr and Facebook.
The new Storify account will represent The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
What is Storify?
Storify, which launched in 2011, is an online platform where users can tell stories using social media such as photos, tweets and videos. Together the collated content helps to tell a particular story.
A number of different types of content can be pulled into each story or “storify” including YouTube videos, RSS feeds, web links, tweets, Flickr galleries and Facebook entries.
Our first Storify tells the story of The Duchess of Cornwall’s support for Meals on Wheels through various forms of social media including Twitter and a web link to archived material on www.princeofwales.gov.uk. It ends with a link to the BBC2 programme in which The Duchess features on BBC iPlayer.
Other social media channels
Storify is the latest addition to a number of social media tools used by Clarence House:
- The Clarence House Twitter account launched in November 2010 and has over 152,000 followers to date. It provides up-to-date information about The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
- The British Monarchy account on Flickr with the addition of behind-the-scenes exclusive images taken at engagements;
- The Royal Channel on YouTube has more than 150 films made in-house by Clarence House about Their Royal Highnesses and their work;
- The British Monarchy page on Facebook was launched in 2010 which helps people to follow the latest news and gallery images and read the court circular.
