The Duchy Nursery builds a new visitor centre
24th June 2011
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will officially open the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery’s new visitor centre during their annual visit in July.
The visitor centre features a new building, shop, café and gardens, and has been built on the Duchy estate, which was established in 1337.
The Prince of Wales, or The Duke of Cornwall as he is known there, is actively involved in running the Duchy and his philosophy is to improve the estate and pass it on to future Dukes in a stronger and better condition.
The new visitor centre is a project His Royal Highness has also been personally involved in, working closely with designers and Nursery staff, and it reflects his interest in traditional building methods.
