The Prince of Wales contributes to The People's Bible
20th June 2011
The Prince of Wales has written the first two verses of The People's Bible, a new digital project celebrating the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible.
The People's Bible is the first ever digital handwritten Bible. Using a digital pen which connects to The People's Bible website, people across the country are being invited to write out two verses of the Bible onto paper with this digital pen, which will then appear on the website.
The verses contributed by The Prince are from the book of Genesis 1:1-2.
In his contribution, The Prince wrote:
Genesis 1:1: " In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
Genesis 1:2: " And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."
The People's Bible is a joint venture by Bible Society of England and Wales and the Scottish Bible Society.
In March this year, The Prince of Wales recorded a passage for The YouTube Bible, a project launched by The King James Bible Trust.
