The Prince's Charities Community website has been launched
22nd May 2008
A new website has been launched to bring together the work of The Prince of Wales’s charities and social enterprises.
The Prince’s Charities Community Website (www.princescharities.org) will provide a platform for visitors to learn more about, and join in with, the people and organisations who form The Prince’s Charities.
The charities work across a broad range of areas from helping young people to change their lives, to providing children with access to the arts and bringing businesses together to tackle climate change.
The website will carry stories, news, blogs, events and profiles of people who work for, or benefit from, the charities.
There are many inspirational stories to hear – how young people in Birmingham were given the opportunity to design and build their own youth community centre through The Prince’s Foundation for the Built Environment, how a village in Afghanistan was helped to keep its traditional pottery skills alive through The Turquoise Mountain Foundation, or how, through Business in the Community, a charity has been able to create work placements for homeless people in London.
Most importantly, it will provide the opportunity for others to be involved and show their support by signing up to join the community. A monthly newsletter will keep members up to date with the latest news and developments amongst the organisations.
