Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, Facebook - did you know there are a number of ways you can find out the latest news, pictures and information about The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry?

Clarence House is the official residence of Their Royal Highnesses and the @ClarenceHouse Twitter account launched in November 2010 and was first with the news of the Royal engagement. @ClarenceHouse represents all five members of the Royal Family listed above.

In addition to this, Clarence House is active on a number of social media networks:

  • The British Monarchy account on Flickr with the addition of behind-the-scenes exclusive images for the British Monarchy account;
  • The Royal Channel on YouTube which has more than 125 exclusive films made in-house about Their Royal Highnesses and their work;
  • The British Monarchy page on Facebook was launched in 2010 which allows people to follow the latest news and gallery images from the Royal website and read the court circular.
The Prince launched his first website in 1998 and since then has been keen to use digital media to highlight issues that he cares about.

In 2009 His Royal Highness spearheaded a digital campaign to raise awareness deforestation with his Prince’s Rainforest Project In which people were encouraged to sign up online to demonstrate their support for urgent action.

The focal point of the campaign was a 90-second public awareness film in which His Royal Highness appears alongside his sons, The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry, an array of well-known figures including Harrison Ford, the Dalai Lama, Daniel Craig, Robin Williams and children from around the world.

Additionally The Prince took part in a webcast, which was broadcast across the internet, and was shown on social networking sites including MySpace.

YouTube: The Royal Channel

Launched in 2007 with The Queen’s Christmas Broadcast, The Royal Channel on YouTube has been a popular source of exclusive videos from Clarence House for more than three years. There are more than 313 films on the channel, which have been viewed a total of 31million times.

There are more than 120 exclusive films on the channel that have been produced by Clarence House, and highlight Their Royal Highnesses work with charities and on issues they are passionate about including the environment, sustainable living, education and the arts.

Flickr

The British Monarchy Flickr account was launched in July 2010, providing a vast photo collection of The Royal Family.

The British Monarchy Flickr feed is the place to find exclusive images of events at Clarence House, and unseen photographs of engagements and meetings with The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry such as exclusive photographs of Prince Harry attending The Princes’ Charities Forum.

The photos cover a number of different subjects, from the solar panels that The Prince had installed on the roof at his London residence, Clarence House, to A Garden Party to Make A Difference, which saw Their Royal Highnesses, celebrities, retailers, musicians and members of the public come together to promote sustainable living.
