In July 2004, Prince William and Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at Sport Relief's one mile event, to show their support for the charity.

At the end of the race, Prince Harry shook his brother by the hand and said: "Well done, I'm very proud of you."

At the end of the race, Prince Harry shook his brother by the hand and said: Prince William sprints along the route with comedian Patrick Kielty. They were running a mile in aid of Sport Relief. Before the race, Prince William and Prince Harry met youngsters helped by the sports charity Fitzrovia. Both Princes were due to run, but Prince Harry had to pull out due to injuring his knee. Prince Harry talks to young children taking part in the mile-long race in aid of Sport Relief. Prince William completed the mile-long race along the Embankment in six minutes and 10 seconds.
