Prince Harry with brother Prince William

A new Mario Testino photograph has been released to mark Prince Harry's 20th birthday

12th September 2004

Prince Harry will be 20 years old this week and to mark the occasion, Clarence House have released one of the latest pictures taken by The Princes‘ favourite photographer, Mario Testino.

The spontaneous picture was taken during a jovial summer photoshoot for the annual family Christmas card.

It shows Prince William and Prince Harry sharing a joke with Mario.

Mario Testino was invited by The Prince of Wales to take the pictures at their family home, Highgrove, in Gloucestershire.

Mario has photographed the Princes many times - together and individually including Prince Harry on his 18th birthday; Prince William on his 21st birthday; and The Prince of Wales with his rare hens at Highgrove.

Of the photoshoot Mario said: "One thing that has caught my attention since the first time I photographed them is that there exists an intimacy between them that we rarely see.

"I feel very privileged to have that chance to be briefly part of their private world that I am very aware not many of us get to see.

"The truth is that they were not laughing at anything in particular; it is just the way they relate to each other. They seem to have a uniquely close father-son relationship.

"Although I do still find it nerve-racking to go and photograph them, at the same time it is a real treat."
