The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attend the annual Sandringham Flower Show, Norfolk
27th July 2011
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attended the annual Sandringham Flower Show in Norfolk today. While touring the show, The Prince of Wales came face to face with his own likeness - in knitted form.
The Prince and the Duchess of Cornwall saw the 6in high dolls, part of a knitted royal wedding set, complete with military uniforms or dresses, as they toured the flower show.
The knitted figures included The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as the centrepiece, Her Majesty
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Harry and a couple of corgis and were created by Barbara Frary for her entry in the flower arrangement category called A Royal Wedding.
Mrs Frary had placed the woollen figures among white roses and foliage - and they left Their Royal Highnesses laughing.
The Duchess was the first to comment, saying to The Prince: "Spot the likeness", while The Prince replied: "I can see myself" in between loud giggles.
When The Duchess spotted one of the two tiny corgis, she said: "What I really like is the dog", and The Prince added: "It's wonderful, so nice - I love the knitting."
Mrs Frary's efforts earned her fourth place, with the winning entry a beautiful bouquet of white roses themed around The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh's 1947 wedding.
The Prince of Wales is deeply committed to the Sandringham Show and attends every year.
