TRH to visit the United States of America
4th January 2007
Yesterday Clarence House announced that Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will visit Philadelphia and New York on a two day visit to the United States on 27th & 28th January 2007.
The main themes of the visit are youth development, urban regeneration and environmental conservation, and will enable Their Royal Highnesses to support initiatives which are tackling these issues and which have connections with the United Kingdom.
In New York, His Royal Highness will receive the Global Environmental Citizen Award from Harvard Medical School’s Center for Health and the Global Environment, from last year’s recipient, Al Gore. The Prince’s visit will emphasise the importance which the UK Government places on climate change as a key international priority.
The Prince and The Duchess last visited the United States in November 2005 when they spent time in New York, Washington, New Orleans and San Francisco. Click here to read about Their Royal Highnesses' visit in 2005.
