Prince Harry is currently in the final stages of his training to become an Apache Helicopter Pilot with the Army Air Corps.

He received his provisional wings from his father The Prince of Wales, who is Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps (AAC) on 7th May 2010.

He was promoted to the rank of Captain in April 2011, in recognition of time served in the Armed Forces and was also awarded his Apache Badge from the Officer in Command of his Squadron at the same time.

Prince Harry’s full time role is currently as a serving member of the Military. In February 2008, he returned home to the UK from Afghanistan after undertaking more than two months active service with the British Army.

Captain Harry Wales - as he is now known in the Military - has recently returned to the UK from the United States of America where he undertook a major training exercise flying Apache helicopters.

He will now complete a further training exercise in the UK before completing the Apache Conversion to Role Course.

Once he has completed his current Apache Conversion to Role Course, he will be assigned to an Apache Squadron as a fully qualified pilot in the Army Air Corps Attack Helicopter Force.

Aside from his military career, Prince Harry also wants to show his support for a few organisations that reflect issues he cares about. As such he is Patron of a number of charities both in the UK and abroad.

Prince Harry founded his own charity, Sentebale, with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to help orphaned children and vulnerable young people in the Southern African country. In September 2009, the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry was also set up to allow the two Princes to take forward their charitable ambitions. Prince Harry, along with his brother and now The Duchess of Cambridge intend to use the Foundation as the main vehicle for their future charitable activities and that, by raising sustainable sources of funds, it will be able to make charitable grants

As third in line to the British Throne, Prince Harry also attends important royal occasions such as Trooping The Colour and attends a number of public engagements throughout the year on behalf of the charities he supports.
