Sentebale - Lerotholi
After the death of his mother, wheelchair bound from muscular dystrophy, 16-year-old Lerotholi lived with his aunt.
She abused and neglected him; he was found malnourished, weak and with deep wounds to his head, and was admitted to hospital.
When Sentebale heard of Lerotholi’s plight we stepped in to help. Arranging specialist care for him at hospital and funding visits from his community, we undertook to help him.
When the Department of Social Welfare failed to respond to his case, Sentebale arranged for him to be cared for by one of our partners, St Angela’s Home for the Physically Disabled.
We are funding his place here and he now receives the care and attention he needs and deserves.
We are happy to report that his condition is now improving – he is comfortable and enjoys being around friends, and is smiling again.
