At Work
The Duchess of Cornwall supports her husband The Prince of Wales in his work and role as Heir to the Throne, and also supports a number of her own charities and organisations in the role of President or Patron.
Since becoming The Duchess of Cornwall, Her Royal Highness has travelled across the country with The Prince and on solo engagements, meeting people from all walks of life.
Her Royal Highness has her own charities and patronages and works to support these organisations in what ever way she can through attending events, writing messages of support and visiting projects throughout the UK.
The Duchess has also accompanied The Prince on overseas tours, most recently to Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary in March 2010.
Prior to that The Duchess joined The Prince on an extensive tour of Canada, where Her Royal Highness has ancestral links through her great-great-great-grandfather, in November 2009.
In October 2008, Their Royal Highnesses' visit to Japan celebrated the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations with the United Kingdom and focused on environmental sustainability, including new technologies, and education and heritage. The programme highlighted the UK’s diverse relationship with Japan, including furthering strong economic links.
A visit to Brunei emphasised strong military links with the UK, and included a visit to the Gurkhas of whom His Royal Highness is Colonel-in-Chief, together with educational links and the protection of the Borneo Rainforest in the fight against climate change.
