Work Experience

After leaving university, The Duke of Cambridge undertook a programme of work experience while he prepared for the Regular Commissions Board for entry into The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

His Royal Highness was keen to broaden his knowledge and gain experience of a number of different working environments.

The programme included working on a country estate to learn more about land management, working at different financial institutions in the City of London, and joining an RAF Mountain Rescue Team in Wales.

The Duke also made a number of visits to the homeless charity Centrepoint, of which he is Patron, and started to learn more about the community work of The Football Association, of which he is President.

At the same time His Royal Highness passed his Regular Commissions Board (RCB), which enabled him to join Royal Military Academy Sandhurst to train as an army officer.  He entered Sandhurst as an Officer Cadet in January 2006.
