Street children in Lesotho wearing Super Dry T-Shirts from In Kind Direct

In Kind Direct - Msizi Africa

Msizi Africa provides feeding programmes for street, orphaned and vulnerable children across Lesotho, Zambia and South Africa. These programmes provide the children, many of whom are HIV positive, the opportunity to have access to a nutritious and balanced diet.

Msizi Africa was set up by their director, Lucy Caslon in 2007 after she spent some time volunteering with AIDS orphans in Africa. Lucy has worked hard to build relationships with local organisations in the communities she works with, at present reaching over 1,000 children.

Since joining In Kind Direct in 2008, Msizi Africa has ordered just under £4,000 worth of goods including clothing, dolls, toys, Dettol hand foam, Vitamin supplements, sanitary projects and Huggies baby wipes.

Lucy explained: “The work that we do not only provides the children with a nutritious balanced diet, but also impacts on their education, general health and well-being.

“Working with In Kind Direct has meant I have been able to provide street children with vitamin supplements, girls at the orphanage with sanitary products and clothing for the older children. As well as funding feeding programmes, it is really great to be able to pack up a suitcase and take items out to the children that they otherwise would not have access to. They really appreciate it.”

She added: “In Kind Direct provides such a fantastic service. I cannot believe the amazing things that have been on offer, it is such great value.”
