The Duchess of Cornwall becomes Patron of BFBS

The Duchess of Cornwall has been announced as Patron of British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS).

The military broadcasting service entertains, informs, connects and champions the UK Armed Forces family, having been set up in 1943 during World War II, when its first radio station was opened in Algiers.

In a special video message upon becoming Patron, Her Royal Highness shared the importance of maintaining a connection between serving personnel and their families, recalling when her father listened to a basic radio while a prisoner of war during World War Two and recounting the latest news to their comrades.
