The Duchess of Cornwall today carried out her first engagement as Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles. In Chepstow, Her Royal Highness met Riflemen of the 1st Battalion and their families.
The Duke of Edinburgh was previously Colonel-in-Chief of the Rifles Regiment since its formation in 2007 and was connected to successive Regiments since 1953. In July, The Duchess took over the position in a ceremony at Highgrove House and Windsor Castle.
During the visit, The Duchess met Riflemen who are undertaking further training at the barracks, as well as others who have been deployed throughout Wales to support the Welsh NHS during the pandemic.
