The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron of Roald Dahl 100, a year-long, nationwide celebration marking 100 years since the author’s birth, visited her personally designed dream jar in St James’s Park today.

The Duchess’s dream, which has now taken form in a personally designed Dream Jar, is that every child learns to read, and discovers the life-long pleasure of books. The Duchess’s Dream Jar is part of a larger public art installation that launched on Saturday across the UK and sees the dreams and aspirations of 50 celebrated famous people transformed into sculptures.

The trail is raising money for Save the Children to support their vital work in some of the toughest places in the world so that every child has the chance to make their dreams come true. It will also benefit a specialist nursing programme supported by Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
