On Saturday 29th August, The Duke of Rothesay visited the site of the Braemar Gathering to raise the standard which launched the Virtual Highland Games, taking place today.

Whilst The Duke was in Braemar, His Royal Highness awarded Jimmy Milne with an Honoured Life Membership to the Braemar Royal Highland Society, in recognition of his continued support and loyalty to the Games.

There have been Gatherings of one sort or another at Braemar for over 900 years, but the Braemar Gathering, as we know it, has been running since 1832! As Patron of The Scottish Highland Games Association, The Duke of Rothesay tries to attend the Braemar Gathering every year, alongside Her Majesty The Queen and other members of The Royal Family.
