The Prince of Wales supports campaign to support Gurkha veterans living in Nepal

Published on 17th December 2009

The Prince of Wales, as Patron of the Gurkha Welfare Trust, has written a message to show his support for a new new appeal to support Gurkha veterans living in Nepal:

"As Patron, I was delighted to hear that the Gurkha Welfare Trust is launching a new appeal to raise much needed funds to support Gurkha Veterans living in Nepal.

"The money will fund a variety of vital projects, including the provision of a monthly welfare pension for 10,000 gallant Gurkha veterans and widows; help provide much needed medical care and provide essential services such as the provision of water and sanitation in Gurkha villages.

"These projects will help ensure these wonderfully loyal and courageous men receive the support they so deserve."
