To celebrate the 80th birthday of The Australian Women’s Weekly, The Prince of Wales agreed to be interviewed by the magazine's deputy editor Juliet Rieden.
The Prince was last interviewed by the magazine in 1974.
In an interview with The Prince at Birkhall given earlier this year, his home on the Balmoral estate, His Royal Highness spoke to Juliet Rieden about his charity work, his wife and sons, delivering his speech paying tribute to his mother The Queen at the Diamond Jubilee concert, what he loves about Australians and Australia and his first foray into sustainable housing there.
Juliet Rieden said: “Our 80th birthday issue is about celebrating the magazine’s heritage but also looking forward to the next 80 years. Prince Charles, as the Heir to the Throne, will be part of that.
“We were thrilled when His Royal Highness agreed to our request for an exclusive interview, especially when he suggested we did the interview and took photos of him at Birkhall, his private home on the Balmoral estate. In the interview the Prince talks about his vision for the future, a lot of which involves caring for the environment for future generations and will make perfect sense to Australians.”
