The Prince of Wales attended a Royal Gala performance of Mamma Mia! at the newly refurbished Prince of Wales theatre which raised £100,000 in aid of The Prince's Trust. The Prince met two members of Seventies pop group Abba, Bjorn Ulvaeus and Anni-Frid Prinzessin Reuss, on whose music the show is based.
The Prince also officially reopened the West End theatre, which has undergone a 10-month £7.5million restoration by its owner Sir Cameron Mackintosh, and unveiled a glass sculpture of the theatre created by Ian Byrne.
Mamma Mia! is celebrating its fifth anniversary and at the moment is playing in eight countries. It is estimated that 17 million people worldwide have seen the show.
The show features some of Abba's best known songs, including Dancing Queen, Knowing Me Knowing You, Take A Chance On Me and Gimme Gimme Gimme!
After the last curtain, The Prince met the cast and behind-the-scenes production crew on stage.
