His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, also known as The Duke of Rothesay when in Scotland, joined service personnel on Saturday, marking the start of a UK-led military exercise, Exercise Joint Warrior. Joint Warrior is a multinational exercise linked to the NATO exercise programme and is hosted here in the UK. It’s also one of the largest tri-service and multinational exercises of its kind in Europe, incorporating all three of our Armed Forces – the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force.
HRH boards HMCS Montreal berthed at Her Majesty's Naval Base Clyde
HRH, who is Commodore-in-Chief of the Canadian Royal Navy’s Canadian Fleet Atlantic, used this opportunity to meet with captains and crew of Her Majesty’s Canadian Ships Montreal and Windsor, of the fleet, which were berthed at HM Naval Base Clyde. HRH also took the time to promote a young sailor on HMCS Montreal from ordinary to able seaman and present deserving officers with their bridge watch-keeping certificates.
