The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will attend the investiture of Crown Prince Willem-Alexander as King of The Netherlands today.

Crown Prince Willem-Alexander will become his nation's first King in more than a century during today's ceremony, which will be attended by members of Royal Families from across Europe.

He will replace his mother Queen Beatrix who announced earlier this year she would abdicate after reigning for 33 years.

The investiture of the Crown Prince as King of the Netherlands will take place at Nieuwe Kirk, in Amsterdam.

The Crown Prince is married to Princess Maxima, a former investment banker from Argentina, and has three young children.

Last night The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attended a banquet in honour of Queen Beatrix at the world famous Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
