The Duchess of Cornwall hosted a reception for the National Youth Orchestra
The Duchess of Cornwall hosted a reception for members of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain at Clarence House this evening.
Her Royal Highness enjoyed a recital by members of the NYO, before attending the reception to meet them.
The Duchess, who is a keen supporter of the Arts, became Patron of the NYO in 2013. The organisation was founded in 1948 in the belief that many talented young musicians in the UK were so accomplished they could create their own orchestra.
In 2015, through two newly-expanded programmes of work, NYO Inspire and NYO Open, the National Youth Orchestra hopes to reach 2,900 more teenagers as musicians.
