The Prince of Wales visits St Mary’s Hospital

The Prince of Wales visited St Mary’s Hospital in London today to meet staff and patients including nurses who have been shortlisted for the annual Nursing Times Awards.

St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington is the major acute hospital for north-west London as well as a maternity centre. The hospital provides care across a wide range of specialties and runs one of four major trauma centres in London in addition to its 24/7 A&E department. His Royal Highness visited some of the wards and met staff, including Louise Savine, a tissue viability lead nurse, who with colleagues has developed an app which allows the real-time monitoring of bedsores.
