"In May of 2012, I attended a new programme being run by The Prince’s Trust and Dumfries House called ‘Get Into Hospitality’. This was a five week course covering both “front of house” and “kitchen skills”.
"As soon as I set foot in the kitchen at Dumfries House I knew it was what I wanted to do.
"At the end of the five week course I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to take a place on the Modern Apprenticeship programme Dumfries House were running working under the Head Chef Darren Blunden and working in the kitchens at Dumfries House.
"This has been an amazing career opportunity which has increased my confidence and given me a belief in myself and my future, where before I had no direction and no prospects, now I am training for a career and see my future as a much more stable and fulfilling, this has only been achievable through the support of The Prince’s Trust and most importantly Dumfries House."
