
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall have visited a Birmingham hospital to thank those taking part in COVID-19 vaccine trials.
Their Royal Highnesses arrived at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and were greeted by the Health Secretary Matt Hancock before meeting volunteers taking part in clinical COVID-19 trials.
The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust has treated the largest number of COVID-positive patients of any NHS Trust in the UK – more than 12,500 – with 10,000 of these discharged.
The Trust has also recruited a large number of patients for the trials – 12,000.
The Prince and The Duchess also met healthcare staff receiving their vaccinations.
