The Royal Welsh Show 2019

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attended the 100th Royal Welsh Show today in Llanelwedd, Powys.

On arrival at the Show, Their Royal Highnesses met with King Goodwill and Queen Mpumi, The King and Queen of the Zulus.  This year marks 140 years since the battle at Rorke’s Drift in the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879.

Members of Rhayader and Dictrict Male Voice Choir sang a rendition of ‘Men Of Harlech’, which echoed the famous scenes in the 1964 film Zulu featuring Sir Michael Caine, which portrayed the Anglo Zulu War.

The Prince then toured the festival site where His Royal Highness spoke with farmers, agricultural leaders, breeders, and representatives from The Prince's Countryside Fund.

The Duchess was joined by Queen Mpumi to meet representatives from the local Women's Institute, Merched y Wawr, and Wales Young Farmers.
