I am very proud to be Patron of the Queen’s Green Canopy and it is, I think enormously encouraging how many projects are developing around that particular initiative as a very special way of marking the Platinum Jubilee.

And of course, the Pontfadog Oak I know is an incredibly special part of the Welsh landscape and the tragedy was losing the ancient one in 2013, but fortunately at Windsor Great Park there is a very very special propagator who has managed to propagate these saplings and now thank god we have the offspring to be able I hope to repopulate parts of Wales.

It is as far as I’m concerned, such a special occasion to be able to commemorate these monster oaks and I hope one will go back to the family at Chirk Castle nearby in memory of this great oak. So, I cannot thank enough, all those who made this possible and I hope they will actually grow and provide extra interest and pleasure to so many people who mind about the difference that trees make to our lives.
