Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the one occasion on which I really do want to pull the wool over your eyes but I won't ram the point home as it would be a very non-ewe thing to do!

Ladies and gentlemen, I am most touched and, indeed, surprised, that the Evening Standard should have decided to give me the award of Londoner of the Decade.

Ladies and gentlemen, I really could not be more pleased to see you all here today. I'm very grateful to you for coming from such a long way away; thank you for making the effort.

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Clarence House. Thank you all for coming here today.

Your Excellency, Ladies and Gentlemen, I am delighted to be able to join you today and I cannot thank you all enough for the time you have devoted to Measure What Matters.

Secretary General, Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am so touched by what the Secretary General has said, most undeserved. It is a great joy to see her in post at Marlborough House, which, incidentally, I remember coming to when I was very small to visit my great grandmother Queen Mary, who lived here. So I have very special memories, I can remember her room upstairs. She would have been very glad that it is still being used.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As many of you here know, the National Osteoporosis Society is a charity which is very close to my heart. I became involved with it in 1994 after watching my mother stoically suffering the appalling pain and ignominy of this devastating disease, which in the end resulted in her early death at the age of 72.

It is truly terrifying to imagine the destruction wrought across this landscape one hundred years ago today. However, we now return to the battlefield in a spirit of reconciliation and respect.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am so impressed, as always, but particularly this year by real quality and beauty of the work that is on show today and I also want to say how very very proud I am of all the students at my School of Traditional Arts.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I did particularly want to thank you all so much for having found the time in your incredibly busy schedules to participate in this two day meeting.
