Building Skill in Sustainable Development
Educating with Oxford; an MSc in Sustainable Development
Education forms a key part of our work, and plays an essential role in our commitment to give people the skillset needed to deal with a rapidly changing urban environment.
By 2030, more than 60% of the world's population will live in cities. Urban planners need to meet the challenge of resolving often-conflicting urban needs.
Working alongside the University of Oxford’s Department for Continuing Education and developers, our two-year Masters course offers a rigorous and academic qualification strongly grounded in professional practice, and addresses the state-of-the-art research and practices required to create the sustainable cities and buildings of the future.
The course is tailored to professionals worldwide working in the property development sector and aims to provide best practice in ecologically-aware sustainable building.
Over the two years, students attend eight intensive week-long teaching sessions, each with an individual theme that underpins the teaching and learning focus. We are now in our third year of this collaborative partnership, the aim of which is the discovery and application of innovative and pragmatic solutions to real-life issues.
The programme draws students from all over the world, attracted by the combination of an Oxford degree and the ethos and experience of The Prince’s Foundation. We aim to educate the people who will confront and solve the challenges of an urbanising world in a suitable and sensible way.
