The Prince of Wales's Business and Sustainability Programme

University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership

The Prince of Wales's Business & Sustainability Programme (BSP) is a unique forum, established in 1994 by The Prince of Wales and the University of Cambridge.

Over 2,250 delegates from more than 1,000 organisations in 73 countries have attended the Programme’s senior executive seminars.

Over its 18-year history, the Programme has established a reputation as the leading international, cross-industry and cross-sector, forum for sustainable business.

The underlying theme of BSP is the successful management of change through understanding global trends and finding strategic, practical ways to integrate social and environmental solutions into decision-making processes whilst still remaining profitable. The Programme's seminars for senior executives whether they are held in the UK, continental Europe, Southern Africa or Australia all use common content and similar processes to address the central challenges of sustainable development.

They are primarily intended for business leaders and corporate senior executives who operate at a strategic level within their organisation and who need to make the right long-term decisions to ensure their organisations grow sustainably and profitably.

A small number of places on each seminar are reserved for senior representatives from the public sector and from NGOs who have an interest in understanding the response of the business sector.

In his capacity as President of the Programme, and through his personal commitment to and leadership in sustainability, His Royal Highness takes a keen interest in the Programme's ongoing development. He has attended a number of Programme seminars, and regularly hosts events for alumni at his Clarence House residence.

"The key feature of the Programme has become the level of intellectual challenge that has been attained. This has been done quite deliberately by inviting only the most original and thought-provoking speakers and attracting the highest calibre of delegates." The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince of Wales's Business & Sustainability Programme
