The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex tonight attended the Global Premiere of "Our Planet" – a new nature series on Netflix narrated by Sir David Attenborough.
Their Royal Highnesses attended the premiere to help highlight the threat of climate change and the need for all generations to work together in order to maintain our natural environment.
Arriving at the Natural History Museum in London, Their Royal Highnesses met guests at a reception before assembling in the museum’s main hall to watch the first episode of the series. “Our Planet” will showcase the planet's most precious species and fragile habitats, revealing amazing sights on Earth in ways they’ve never been seen before.
The Prince of Wales has been an environmental leader for nearly 51 years and attended the premiere in his capacity as President of WWF UK.
The Prince of Wales made a speech at the premiere, telling guests:
Climate change and biodiversity loss are not only going to wreak havoc on future generations, they are starting to wreak havoc on us already (particularly, and tragically, on the poorest and most vulnerable) and we have no choice but to be the change we need, for there is nobody else. For that to happen as many people as possible, across all cultures and languages, must understand the natural world and our place within it. We are Nature ourselves. “Our Planet” will be a critical part of that process and I hope and pray that it will catalyse an enduring determination to cherish and protect the Earth, “Our” only home.”
